Me too, they are great, the storyline is pretty fun and the combat is amazing. I'm so getting F.E.A.R. 3, even with it's regen health :D .

[PS2] Nightshade - The sequel to the PS2 Shinobi. This game did not review well and most fans of the the PS2 Shinobi do not care for it. People cannot make up their mind. It is either flamed for being to easy due to the addition of a "kick", or it is criticized for being too difficult with cheap deaths and levels that are almost entirely made up of bottomless pits. But I love it. I really like the main character. The level design, while unforgiving at first, makes you feel like the ultimate bad ass when you memorize it. The game sports some nice unlockables that keep you coming back if it clicks with you.

[PS3/360] Lost Planet 2 - My love of this game is well known on this forum and others. Critically panned for being "too difficult" or "poorly designed", I feel the game is simply misunderstood. It is a perfect example of old 1990s Japanese game design in a modern day package. Hitstun, knockback, invincibility frames and the lack of a cover button (no one seemed to NEED one until 'Gears) - it is all here in true 16 bit/32 bit glory. The game also shows off the beauty of the MT Framework engine. Until recently the 4 player coop was pretty unique.

[PS3/360] Resident Evil 5 - This one seems to make Resident Evil fans' blood boil. I am a long time fan of the series and I love this game. While it cannot truly be called a Resident Evil game, it is a great action game with Resident Evil characters. The entire game can be played cooperatively and is probably some of the best jump in/jump out coop you will find outside the Gears of War franchise. Again, the MTF engine is in full effect, showing off how scalable it can be between different platforms. I still consider this one of the best looking current gen games. If you are willing to spring for the "Gold" edition, you are treated to a wealth of unlockables and extra content for a very fair price point of around $39.

I know each and everyday a would be great game gets turned into garb thanks to the harshness of some critics and their high expectations. In retrospect, what are some of your gaming favorites that got slammed by bad reviews that would of otherwise been a pretty great game? Which games should be re-evaluated again? Come on, don't be ashamed even if its considered the worse game in history. Remember one persons junk can be another one's treasure.

name of game
console
bad review score (if possible)
why it should be played

Streets of SimCity
PC
Don't recall the exact score, but it's somewhere in the fours or fives (out of ten).
I enjoy it because it's a cool way to drive around in your SimCity 2000 cities. It's got a neat atmosphere, and I liked how it had fake radio stations to listen to, complete with music, DJs and ads. It's horribly glitchy however, and it's pretty ugly for a 1997 game. It looks like a bland PS1 game. Oh, and it won't run on a machine running any OS newer than Windows 98 SE.

i like shaq fu , but everyone in the world even obama hates it.
I thought the animation is smooth and the graphics are nice.
My score for this game would be 6.5/10

Of course this is not my first experience of a fighting game, prior to this i was an addict on street fighter 2 turbo and mk2 on the snes.
I actually played shaq fu first time at my cousin house who happened to own this game on the genesis.
