See ya, guys.

Nothing dramatic or well written here. The forum just isn't for me anymore. It hasn't been for a long time now. As popularity of this site has risen, the quality of the average user has plummeted. I can't remember the last time I've had a worthwhile and memorable conversation with anyone here. Take a look at every active thread from today. There's not a single one I have any desire to post in. These subjects can be found on ANY forum. Nothing has an ounce of originality. This isn't how things used to be here. This probably sounds like a mass-scale insult to everyone here, but it isn't. It's just how I see things.

There were a good couple dozen regular users since 2006 here who have left without saying goodbye, and fortunately, since I keep in touch with most of them via AIM/MSN/YAHOO/STEAM/GMAIL, I've heard many similar reasons for their departure, which reassures me of my sanity regarding my own reasons.

My other reason, unique to myself, is that accepting the offer of mod status years ago was the biggest mistake and waste of effort I've ever made in regards to a web community. I begrudgingly agreed initially, and it only became less worthwhile as time went on. Me and Nick have never seen eye to eye on how a forum can be considered a success, and massive voids in communication only complicated matters. I think Nick would admit he only picked me back then because of my post count. That's never good criteria for forum staff. I'm sure he knows this now, as I've long since been the piece that doesn't fit into this puzzle.

Bye, guys. Anyone who might miss me can surely find a means to stay connected. Those who hate me may now break out the sparklers.

in b4 door hitting ass on way out.

That's why there's a "New Topic" button. Maybe you should try it?

Sorry to see you go, Moz, and hope you'll reconsider.

I agree the forum is a little different these days but would disagree that it is the same as almost any other place. It is still on the small side and the level of conversation here is much better than most any other game-related forum I've seen.

Maybe you'd feel different as a regular user who pops in on occasion instead of a mod? Your input (and occasional rant) adds lots to the forums and it would be a shame to lose that entirely.

Well Moz, I hate to see you go. You know a lot about games and have a lot of useful information. You're also a lightning rod for controversy, which I've always found to be entertaining to watch, even though your opinions have a jagged edge to them that have even rubbed me the wrong way on occassion. This place is a community and any community is only as strong as its members. I've always liked this place because there are so many people with such a long standing love for videogames and an in depth knowledge of their history, their variety, and their inner workings. I imagine we'll still keep in touch through Steam though, so cheers and see ya later.

Well, that sucks. I think this site is pretty good compared to other ones, even though their is a lot of new users on here, its still a awesome site with great information. I hope you come back or at least visit.

Oh, what's this? New Topic? Huh? I don't get it. I've certainly never tried that. Nope. No Sir. I'm sure you're fully aware of my posting history, user #7973, with a join date of last month. No way would you make any rash and ludicrous assumptions at such a young forum age. You wouldn't do something like that.

Friends, say hello to the present and future of Racketboy forum. God bless them.

Sorry to see you go steve. I really enjoyed your reviews on games. Lately i've been slowing down in posts and even though i read and liked a lot of your game reviews and insights, i often don't respond just to say 'hey nice job.' Only if i have something constructive or something that needs to be said.

I agree that lately i see the same conversations springing up over and over. Part of this can't really be helped. New members and all that. But there is just so many threads of 'favorite games of all time' that you can take. Once you respond in a couple, you are kinda like.... well... i just posted that a month ago and don't want to post it again or hear your games because i didn't really read the thread to begin with. However, i learned that lesson here over the past year so i can't really dog on it too bad. Now i don't think about games in terms of "what do you like, what do i like lets compare" I think of them more in "what do you like, why do you like it. Lets talk mechanics of play and theory of games." I'm thankful for that and your reviews because they address it in an intelligent manor. Lists don't bond people and make a community, conversation and debate does. Regretfully it also takes some time and thought to put together. heh.

sad to see ya go. Shoot me a PM if you want to stay in touch.

*edit* that was a bit grabled due to my cutting/pasting. Basically, hey. I liked your reviews. Sucks to see em go.
