Man, that shits. I hate it when eBayers try to butt fuck you like that. I remember when I bought my first Sega Saturn, it was from eBay. The guy was a good seller with high feedback. When I got my Saturn, it was in worse condition than described and I had to clean it (I can't remember if that was the one that didn't work) and I left negative feedback stating this. I got negative feedback in return stating that I didn't read the description and that the Saturn was fine.
Unfortunately, he had a much higher feedback than I did so his negative feedback hurt me more than mine hurt him. Thankfully, we agreed to take away our negative feedback and replace it with neutral feedback (I didn't give him any).

I fucking hate eBay...

They won't let sellers leave bad feedback anymore which at the end of the day is a good thing. Sellers can't get away with what ever they want anymore. But it leaves sellers open to scumy bidders etc...

Actually, it's quite possible for it to become corrupted if it were to come in close proximity to a magnet or x-ray device (through mail or airport security?). It happens to computers and external hard drives all the time.

if the guy is 1000+ transactions with 100% feedback, why would you think he's trying to scam you out of $100? perhaps it was damaged during shipping? if thats the case, its either your fault or you'll have a claim with the shipping company.

Well, why did he not contact me instead of initiating a paypal claim without trying to work it out with me first? We'll see after I lose the claim if he sends back the same ipod or not. If he does then no sweat, I'll use the receipt to get it fixed under the warranty. If the receipt comes back to me with it. I have a feeling though that if this comes back a different ipod that paypal will tell me it is out of their hands at that point.

Ebay is at this moment billing me for sellers fees for this item on top of that. Fees based on money that will probably go back to the buyer.

So paypal quickly ruled in their favor. No surprise there. Since I purchased this with my bank card do you think my bank will get involved if they send back a different ipod? That would constitute mail fraud would it not?

This is why I only accept money orders. Soon as eBay stopped that I stopped selling on eBay. To many people can screw you by getting something and then immediately going to pay pal. Then Pay Pal just goes into your account and takes the money. This is why I use my credit card on pay pal to pay for things and accept money orders for payment. I'd rather sell it locally or to the trust worthy people on this site than eBay scam artists. Watch your good Ipod end up on that sellers page. I am sorry for your luck man. If they don't send you a receipt and the right Ipod your probably boned out of your ipod and cash.

I did contest the case, I think. I image they figure they make more money off of him since he has over 10x the feedback I do and that was that. Though someone on here said it could have got damaged in transit so maybe this dude was telling the truth. We'll see I guess. If that is the case then I'll use the warranty to get it fixed. I guess I will try to just hope for the best for now.

Oh yeah, you said that. lol. If it did get damaged while in transit that is better than him pulling a swtch on me for sure.
