So I'm doing the eHarmony thing now...
Re: So I'm doing the eHarmony thing now...
Are you wanting to go for a normal chick or a nerdy/gamer lady?

Hey, good luck. I know my Uncle used internet dating to find my Aunt. They have been married for about 5 years and now have a 2 year old. Only success story I've heard.

Actually, on certain girls, if you open up to them and tell them about what happened, you guys might become closer. But you know...that's only if you trust her.

Anyway, my bosses brother and his wife met on eharmony, but those guys are 65 or something, so I don't really know how it works. I knew something was up since you rarely post anymore. I say get back to your geek roots and forget about women for a bit.

Online dating is good. One third of all women will put out on the first date. There was a study done:

Good luck with your online dating, Racketboy. I hope you have a lot of fun.

Funny that you bring this up. My best friend's mom met her current husband on one of these sites, and after my dad went through his (fifth) divorce, I recommended he try too.
Though at first I was apprehensive because, and I'll admit it, I'm awfully pessimistic, after several months he finally found someone who he liked, and after I met her, I'm glad things worked out so well for them both. So, it is possible to find what you're looking for.
But don't get caught up in 'I haven't dated in so long, what do I do?'...Whether you find love on a dating website or in the grocery store checkout line, just be yourself.
Good luck, RacketMan.

I recommend that you try http://www.Plentyoffish.com. The entire site is free, and if you live anywhere near a big city you'll find TONS of single women on there. When I was on there I used to average one date a week. But I sometimes had two dates in a week.. sometimes even two in one day! And I'm not much to look at, so you may even have better luck than me.

Well, between the two, I would choose "normal", but it would be a nice for a "normal" girl with geek tendenciesBigTinz wrote:Are you wanting to go for a normal chick or a nerdy/gamer lady?
Actually one of my matches this morning seemed to fit that profile -- I'll see if I hear back from her (unfortunately, she's like an hour away from here)

I love having my personal time. But like you said, part of ya would like someone else in your life.

Well, my wife has a good friend who found her man on eHarmony, they seem really happy. They just had their first child this past weekend.
I hope everything works out for you. You are way ahead of the game in that you are NOT looking for someone to "complete you" or looking to change yourself to meet someone else's expectations. Typically if you are compatible with another person you'll know if pretty quick then you can relax and just let it go where it will naturally go or not go.
