I was actually 11 when it first aired and I've pretty much enjoyed it since.

It does sound like it would make for an interesting fish out of water story. The young artiste, stuck below the poverty line as a local in a tourist town, trying to bring culture to the uninitiated and struggling to find family and connections to those around.

It's been done. Repeatedly. I'm bored of the NYC story. There are other parts of the US.
