I like it. Easily became one of my favorite Genesis games years ago when playing on the Sega Channel.


By the way, I picked up the Fire Spirit last night.

It's decent. Controls are kinda weird. Sprites are too large. Games like Link to the Past and Secret of Mana absolutely crush it.

So, this is a 6-button game. The extra three buttons don't do anything besides provide some status menu shortcuts. Still, kinda cool.

I don't enjoy this nearly as much as I remember. Perhaps I have higher standards now, who knows. It's a weird game. The controls are way too nuanced and beat 'em up-ish for an action-RPG like this. The music is disappointing. Something just feels "off" about the whole experience. It's a short game but I still find myself trudging through it as I can only stomach about twenty minutes at a time. Maybe I'll come back to this one, but for now it gets shelved.
