Distributed to PS4 and Vita in both physical and digital versions. PC too, but digital only for that platform.

One big difference this time; NIS America is handling the localization/publishing, not XSEED. (Although apparently XSEED isn't happy about that: https://twitter.com/Hatsuu/status/832797511479734273 )

Nihon Falcom calls the shots. Apparently they think NIS will do a better job localizing and publishing Ys VIII than XSEED will. Or maybe NIS significantly undercut XSEED on the bid. Who knows?

Isn't XSEED bigger than NIS?

Pretty sure XSEED is a small company. I've communicated with some of their employees online and got that impression. Plus, with some of the earlier Ys games they literally used fan translations as opposed to creating their own.

This game was originally developed for Vita, so that's the version I'll get. I'm glad it's getting a PS4 and PC release too. The more the merrier. Preorders are up on Amazon.
