Together RPG - Illusion of Gaia - 12/01-2/01
Illusion of Gaia (SNES)
For the next two months we'll be playing Illusion of Gaia.
This action-RPG is the second installment of the loosely-defined "Heaven and Earth" trilogy which also includes Soul Blazer and Terranigma. Gaia was developed by Quintet, who's also responsible for the two ActRaiser games and Robotrek.
Gaia is a unique faced-paced game with little allowance for backtracking. The protagonist, Will, assumes three different forms all with varying abilities. Like other Quintet games, the setting is a stylized version of planet Earth.

Nice pick. This is a great game. Anyone who hasn't played it yet is in for a treat.

Oh, Man!
I played Illusion of Gaia over the summer and it is absolutely fantastic. In fact, I like the combat system in it than I do in Link to the Past! It just feels so right and I love the transformations.
Make sure to kill every enemy possible in all of the dungeons. The story is kind of out there and it gets a little repetitive at the end. But, it is still an enjoyable experience and a really great Action RPG. I never collected all of the Red Gems, so I need to go back and complete it some time in the future.

Ah yes, the suicidal pig. One of the all time great "Did that really just happen...?" moments in any game ever.

By the way, I'm in. Additionally, I'll be playing Soul Blazer / Illusion of Gaia / Terranigma back-to-back.

Well that's one way to realize how overrated Terranigma is.
