Should I buy Tales of Xillia or Graces F? Which one is better in regards to story and having side quests/world map ect.?

Neither has an overworld. I personally like the combat system in Xillia better than Graces, so I'd recommend that one. Xillia also has two viewpoint characters, and there are a few points where the party splits up between the two characters, so you'll need to play it twice (or read online stuff) to get the whole story.
