I have never played an RPG outside of the FF series. Perhaps I should get to it.

I started white knight chronicles, but it was so bloody boring that I gave up.

I could flip over my computer desk in fury for the omission of any of the games you guys have mentioned, but I sorta would've expected to see Grandia on here... I mean, it was one of only two Saturn games to sell over a million copies (in Japan alone, no less), and it was called the "Final Fantasy VII-killer" over there. I mean think about the other Saturn title to sell over a million copies: Virtua Fighter 2. I'm pretty sure that Virtua Fighter 2 (or at least VF4 or VF5) would make it onto a list of Top 10 Fighters according to Fighting Game Fans... oh, who am I kidding? Capitalism is hopeless.

What..? What does capitalism have to do with a top ten RPGs list? I mean, if anything we should be wondering about the average age of the person they asked, and wondering if the here-and-now attitudes of the Japanese youth had something to do with this.

Hahaha, sorry, it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Just an expression of dismay at how the best products are so often ignored by the majority in favor of mediocre ones. Looking back, I don't know why I didn't think to question the audience themselves, I just figured that general bad taste transcends borders.

Tales of the Abyss? Yeah, it's good, but it can't hold a candle to Symphonia. I've been seeing a lot of these lists lately, mostly taken from Japan. It's baffling how FFX makes it to the top every time. Some crazy fan must have made a voting macro.

I second the grandia notion but for the second in the series. Any faults the voice acting and localization may have brought about is COMPLETELY redeemed for the the remarkable battle system.
