Hey guys im looking to expand my sega collection,I have a genesis, and a dreamcast, and wondering if sega cd or 32x were worth getting, and if so which one? It seems they are pretty reasonable, but are they really worth it or should I just skip to the saturn? thanks guys.
I'm of the mind that the Sega CD is totally worth it, but it's really up to you. Research what games are available, and if they appeal, go for it. Heck, they're both easily emulatable too, so worth checking out.
i'd say if you can get one in good condition for cheap, go for a sega cd. if nothing else, it has sonic cd which many consider the best sonic game of all time. in my opinion, the 32x was the worst idea of all time. sega cd was at least pretty innovative for its time and had a few solid titles. really all 32x had was a stripped down version of doom and knuckles chaotix which ive never played but i've heard its not that great.
Sega CD provides a lot more options and opens you up for some really great Sega CD exclusives like Sonic CD, Heart of the Alien, Lunar I & II, Snatcher, etc., etc. Even some of the FMV games aren't too bad and always good for a peek into what was hot at the time (or what Sega tried to make hot at the time). Everyone should own at least ONE Digital Pictures game!
I'll be the sleazy guy here- ISO rips of Sega CD games are easy to come by on the internet, where as 32x games are limited in titles, and require to be purchased, but that's just how I see it.
Sega CD all the way!!! It has alot of awesome titles. Lunar, Popful Mail, Shining Force CD, Vay, Lords of Thunder, Android Assault, Robo Aleste, Silpheed, Final Fight CD.....there are more. And I really can't thing of any really outstanding 32x games......
