Time to raid My everdrive....

Post by Dikdikvandik »

Well I've been bored, no games coming out until Smash but I have an ever drive with most of the Genesis and Master System Library.

As a Kid I had a Master System Had Shinobi, Rampage, Black Belt, Hang On, Outrun, Rambo ( A better Ikari warriors than Ikari warriors) Pro Wrestling, Gangster town, Probably others I'm forgetting.

My LOVE right now is Bank Panic, I LOVE playing Bank Panic. Best Light Gun game that doesn't use a Light Gun.

If you haven't played Phantasy Star IV, Shining Force II, or Beyond Oasis, those are really good RPG/RPG variants to play.

Shining Force Phantasy Star IV is every bit as good as the SNES Final Fantasy games, IMO. Characters, story, and especially play mechanics are TIGHT.

Phantasy Star IV really does stand with the other great JRPGs of the era. The manga-style storytelling is incredible for the time and the battles are very fun with lots of cool combos.

How about Master System games?
My Everdrive plays them with FM Sound.

Completely tangential to the discussion at hand, I wasn't sure based on the thread title whether someone was putting everdrives in a RAID array. "Oh I gotta see this sheezy," nullPointer said to himself whilst clicking the link.

At any rate, Fantasy Zone has a pretty good reputation and is a Master System shmup I've been meaning to try out for quite some time.

I've never been a fan of the Fantasy Zone port for Master System for a variety of reasons, but Fantasy Zone 2 is great.

I really enjoy Master of Darkness on SMS. Hard as balls, but the Castlevania fan in me is drawn to it.

I personally think Phan Star IV is better than the SNES FF games. Top 10'er for me.

Other Genesis titles I enjoy diving into randomly:
- Pulseman
- Dyanmite Headdy
- Ristar
- Dinosaurs for Hire
- TMNT Hyperstone Heist
- Road Rash
- Castlevania Bloodlines
- Garfield Caught in the Act
- Streets of Rage
- Street Fighter 2 SCE (6 button controller makes it 16 bit king IMO)

I wish I was better at Eternal Champions. I love the look and characters.

The color and enhancement hacks for both Genesis Street Fighter games is amazing.

One thing I love about having an Everdrive is seeing what potential the System had.

It didn't need the Sega CD to do FMV.

Master of Darkness on Master System it is.
