Need help with a Game Gear.

I have a friend who has a Game Gear he'll sell me. He has about 10-15 games with it, as well as a carry case for the system and a wall charger. The problem is the system powers on and the screen lights up, but there is now video or sound. Can anyone tell me what the likely cause is, as well as how to fix it, and how much that would cost? Also, how hard is it to do the screen mod, and any other mods you guys would recommend?

GG is pretty notorious for bad capacitors there should be plenty of info online if you google around. I believe there are a few people on the forums here who have done repair work on them in the past they will probably chime in shortly.
