Wireless Dreamcast controller?!? Anyone else see these?

Post by pteague87 »

So I found this in my lookings today:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dreamcast-Wireless-Controller-DreamConn-v4-0-/262532741061?hash=item3d202bb7c5:g:SfsAAOSwYmZXMZBd

Anyone bought one of these? If you have, does it work well? Thoughts? I'd kinda like input about this before I dropped big bucks on one. It almost looks like a modified wavebird reciever. Regardless...I thought it was pretty cool.

Looks like a third party made controller. Personally, I would not drop $150 for it. I would rather spend a few bucks on a DC controller extension cord :)

Actually, it's a guy who modifies official controllers. There's a few variants and I briefly followed some of the 'improvements', like he added internal memory to them. They're worth looking into, because I hear the guy who makes them does top quality work. I think a few Sega sites and the Dreamcast Junkyard have done articles and reviews on them.

I wouldn't buy one either though. Too pricey for me.

Man... that input lag. Look at the youtube video in the listing, and observe how much input lag is seen on the Ghost Blade. Maybe it is just me, but the chimes when browsing the main menu where not in sync with the keypress on the directional pad https://youtu.be/w9bta-Za1vQ?t=9m41s.

Reminds me of the Universal Wireless Controller mod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlnmfaILCHw
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Yeah the concept seems good, I just don't know if it's quite perfect just yet. And again for 150.00, I mean that a huge chunk compared to a 5 buck extension cord.
