It depends, if it's a desert island situation and I'm with another person then Herzog Zwei for practically endless versus replay value though the intense rivalry that occurs may eventually cause us to kill each other.

If I'm by myself either Target Earth which I'll have all the time in the world to 1CC or Shinobi III since I consider that game pretty close to being the perfect 16-bit action title.

Has Earthworm Jim been mentioned?

NHL 94 is also on my list.

I think a better question would be "What Genesis games would you not want to own?".

Ah, this is a difficult question. I think I'm in the Hyperstone Heist camp for this, but strong contenders would also be Toejam & Earl, X-Men 2: Clone Wars, and Sonic Spinball. No joke, I never get tired of Sonic Spinball.

On another note, I've wanted Contra: Hard Corps for a year or so based on the soundtrack alone. The way you guys are talking it up as a great challenge game are only making me want it more. It's so expensive CiB on eBay, though.

On one other note, I beat Comix Zone earlier this year without continues. It was down to a hairline of health at the end, though. It's impossible if you don't know where all of the power-ups are, but master that grab-and-throw maneuver too. It's the best way to take out a lot of enemies without getting hit after you get the hang of it.

I'm impressed. I can only get halfway through Comix Zone.

Please tell me the key to enjoying this game.

I never die, and never seem to beat anything. I just bounce around.

You have to look at the levels as levels and not as pinball tables. There are certain tasks you need to perform to open up other areas and progress. The goal is to find the chaos emeralds in each level then fight that level's boss. I'm not a big fan of the game but I played it a lot when I was younger and made it to the last level.

I don't think it's as awful as a lot of people say it is but it gets damned hard and some of the levels can go on forever.

Maybe I'll actually try to beat this one, I haven't played it in forever.
