Favorite SEGA arcade games?
i love sega in the arcade. some of my favorites are Outrun, Space Harrier, After Burner, House of the Dead, Moonwalker, Tac/Scan, Zaxxon, and the list goes on and on. sega still has an awesome presence in arcades now, creating unique light gun and amusement games that still have the creativity of the sega of yesteryear (like 2 Spicy, LA Machineguns, Let's Go Jungle, and many others).
what are some of your favorite sega arcade games? do you prefer the classic games over the newer ones or can you appreciate both?

Re: favorite sega arcade games?
Unfortunately I never got a chance to play some of my favourite Sega arcade games in the arcades but I did get to play my absolute favourite, Out Run, quite a few times so I'm happy.
Re: favorite sega arcade games?
I couldn't even begin to list them. As you said, they were pioneers in the Golden Age and also still make amazingly great modern stuff.
I'll probably get a short list out.

What else is there to say, so many good stuff. I also want to try an EM game from the 60's.
Has any one ever found any of these?

- SCUD Race (love the beginner race against pencil cars, with the occasional giant cat passing through)
- Daytona 2 (Tons of fun. Just fun.)
- Quartet (mostly for the music)

Die Hard Arcade.
16 year old me almost bought Die Hard Arcade (Arcade) for $300 over a decade ago.
24 year old me bought Die Hard Arcade (Sega Saturn) for $15.
I'm still mad at not buying the arcade.

I love Sega in the arcade as well. House of the Dead, Daytona USA (8 Players FTW!), Virtua Tennis, Space Harrier (sit down model), and so many others bring back awesome memories!
Speaking of which could you imagine getting to visit these Sega specialized arcades/amusement parks?!
I don't see a lot of retro going on but I am sure they are still pretty damn cool!

One of my favorites was Power Drift. This arcade we had, had a very strange version of the game with an actual car you got into and crazy hydraulics that tilted and moved with the course. Nothing was more exhilarating than being tilted down towards the ground as you sped down a hill. Oh man, those were the days.
