Genesis / CD / 32x Connection Question

Alright so I've purchased a Sega CD II and a 32x to go with my old Genesis II. I've recieved the Sega CD and am still waiting on the 32x to arrive. However, I noticed the Sega CD has audio out ports of its own?

My TV is a 27-inch 720p LCD, has all of the usual inputs. I have a Genesis s-video cable w/ the two channel audio for the Genesis itself. When I have all three connected how should I go about connecting them for the best possible quality.

If I remember correctly, when a Sega CD is plugged in to a Genesis, there will be no audio output on the genesis, therefore you have to use the jacks from the Sega CD to get audio. That might also be true for a 32x and you'll have to get audio from the CD unit, which will probably have better quality sound anyways.

I have a genesis II a cd II and a 32x, all of which output from the 32x when they are active. To tell you the truth i am interested in what comes out of those jacks, because from what i am using i get all of the sound.

What kind of output is the 32x putting out? Stereo sound? What type of video connection?

I allways thought those conections were for hooking it up to speakers so you can use it to listen to CDs

The SegaCD mixes it's audio to the genny's audio output for users who don't want to use the audio out on the SegaCd (mainly for RF and other direct to TV inputs).

The SegaCD also mixes the genny's sound to its and outputs it from the red and whites on the SegaCD. This audio is better then taking it off the genny (with the model 1 genny you must mix the audio via a male to male mini-din cable from the headphones on the front of the model1 genny). This is the way I always go for for my hookups as I haven't used RF in over a decade... I also use the genny model 1 which only outputs mono on it's A/V out jack, so this is a cleaner access point to true stereo from the genny.

So I guess this means that if you are still using an RF output off a Genesis 1 + Sega CD like I do the only way to get better sound is to make sure that you hook up the Mini-plug mixer and plug the Sega-CD audio outputs directly into a seperate sound system?

Man I wish I could get my hands on a composite connector for the Genesis. That way I could just use the outputs of the SegaCD on my regular TV speakers with less fuss.

If you use a Model 2 Genesis with an RF adaptor would the sound be any better, or would you just be skipping the use of the mixing chord from the headphone jack to the Sega CD mixing port?
