How I sent A+B to Hell.... New Solderless method you'll like
The Mueller Electric BU-34 Micro Alligator clamp.
It features a 1mm clip that *shock* will just fit in between pin 13 and 15 and clamp onto pin 14 of the 32pin chip!!!!!!!!!!!
Just solder the signal wire to the end of the clamp and wala!
Of course, the power wire is game too.
REJOICE A NEW SOLDERLESS DAY IS AT HAND!!!!
Thanks for sending my replacement chip, Racketboy... A+B will never claim another chip again!!! I BID IT TO HELL!!!!!

How is it solderless if you still have to solder?
Great find though, looks interesting, might pick one of these up to have the future. Where did you buy yours from?

Er, I think he means you don't have to solder directly on the pins on the chip where you can do real damage if you're clueless (like me).

It works great.
You can buy these from ebay for $.25 a piece.
I modified the clamp a bit with a dremel (cutting the ends off a bit) to make it really light weight. That way the weight of it doesn't contribute it to falling off the pin in case of vibration or movement.
There are even little insulator boots (how cute ) for it to keep it from making contact with anything else. I might try a little shrink wrap around it as the boot might make it heavy again.
