Yeah Spong (the source) isn't the most reliable source out there.
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Knowing Sega's products of late I'd give it a 50/50 of being a hit or sucking like recent Sonic games.

Were I a betting man there'd be money on Yuji Naka's new independent studio doing this as a contract job for Sega.

On wikipedia it stated under confirmed information that Sonic Team will develop the game, and unless Naka protests this it looks like it'll stay that way.

Wow, it's as if Sega were waiting for Yuji Naka to leave so they could remake the game without his interference, then... geez... Talk about a slap in the face.
