You wouldn't believe the penny-pinchers on ebay, dude. They do anything for a few more nickels. Also, some people do think that if they save a little money by NOT using the buy-it-nows or the reserve price, that it will encourage bidders to bid higher.

Yeah, I hate reserves. They make very little sense. They made some sense when eBay was new, but now there are so many users, you will usually get what something is worth.
Back to the original topic on what should begginners know...
I remember some discussion about the DC's own battery (keeping the date if the power gets unplugged, I think) and the associated annoying beep if the battery is dead. Someone said you could "recharge" it slowly by leaving the DC on for a good while. I'd like to know if that's correct.
