Mega-CD 60hz on pal system requires mod?

Hi,

I want to buy me a PAL mega-cd system soon. There is only one thing I have not yet figured out:

My Mega Drive already has a 60hz switch,

so if I want to force my pal mega-cd into 60hz mode, will this require another modification on the mega-cd unit as well?

Most mod tutorials I read so far only deal with region fixes and multinorm mods.

I hope you people can help me out. (speculations welcome as well )

I'm gonna speculate that there is no 50/60 Hz mod for the Sega CD, just the region mod. The Sega CD doesn't have a video output, the Genesis does, so that's where my reasoning comes from.

This would make sense! The mega-cd really doesn't have a video output.

If I run a pal game on my Mega-CD system and flick the 60hz switch on my mega drive, will this force the game into 60hz mode?

That is basically what I want to do, run my pal sega-cd games in 60hz mode. Any idea if that will work?

I really don't want to import all the sega-cd games from the US or Japan, and European Mega-CD games are pretty cheap... But I hate pal50hz and black borders

Well the Sega/Mega CD doesn't have any copy protection, why not try to test some games out before you buy them. Download a few US/JPN games and see if it works.
