Re: Together Retro: NBA Jam

My only goal is to reach the roster extension (beat all 27 teams in the TE version) as a new player account (your initials - that method of saving games has really gone out of style eh?)

Re: Together Retro: NBA Jam

It's surprising how many special characters are in the TE version of the game. I played a game with Bill Clinton yesterday!

Anyone notice how hilariously tiny John Stockton (Utah Jazz) is in this game? He's a hand puppet!

Re: Together Retro: NBA Jam

I'm on my SNES with NBA Jam: Tournament Edition. It's been years since I fired up this game. I usually play as Chicago or Houston, if I recall correctly.

Re: Do Surge Protectors even work?

I use a UPS for my computer and my newer consoles (360, PS3). Older consoles I tend to take out for a while and put away (i.e. unplugged in a drawer) as soon as I'm done playing, but while they are on I plug them into a power strip. I don't think it is a "surge protector," but those power ...

Re: Civilization series

Civ 2 is so far my favorite one of the series, but I haven't actually played IV at all yet. I might skip it and wait for Civ V.

Civilization Revolution on the consoles (360, NDS, etc) is pretty fun, too, but it's a very simplified version of the Civilization concept.

Re: Exclusivity is going crazy

At roughly $15 for 5 maps... I don't buy map packs anyway.

Actually, I don't really buy any DLC anymore because I keep ending up disappointed with the brief amount of gameplay it adds (Fallout 3's DLC comes to mind).

Re: so im finally breaking down... but i cant decide...

I think the PS3 is better hardware-wise, but it really comes down to the games. Most multiplatform games look better on the 360 (indeed, most run at a provably higher resolution such as 540p vs 720p and so on). Plus I actually like the 360 interface better, which surprises me because I typically shy...
