Re: Random Thoughts Thread

m The Last Starfighter getting a sequel with the original writer and Rogue One Writer and artist. One of my favorite sci-fi films. Sweet! I have been mixed on the newer Star Wars movies in the direction take. Would like to see a remake or new story based on the unrelated Last Star Fighter movie. Th...

Re: Thoughts on opening out of print sealed (recent) games?

Do not open your sealed games. Video games are now hot collectibles. They will retain their value if they remain SEALED. Make sure to buy everything at launch and splurge for those collector's editions. You can make an exception for retro games. Cart-only is acceptable, and you aren't a true fan of...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

I tried to play a game on my Wii VC today to discover that ALL the VC games on my SD card couldn't be launched. Some of the WiiWare titles even had this problem (of course it was both Rebirth games I had). I had to spend an hour deleting them off of the SD card and then redownloading them to the sy...

Re: Choosing a PS2 Model?

Bought some component cables and picked up a fat and slim and about 30 games. First one I wanted to try was disgaea. Well after about 2 hours of screwing with both models and component cables (getting the no signal message) and composite cables, I learned of course the game I wanted to play was 240...

Re: DOSBox Guide - Run DOS Games in Windows

Well I found a similar note and tried Quake yesterday. It appears the stock 320x200 works and one step up to 640x400 too smooth, but anything else over/under that's not a direct variable of that specific ratio slows down through a slide show chug. Seems it's a problem with Dosbox and how it plays n...

I added your picture directly in this post for an instant look and compare. Suggest in future, upload pictures to your photo share site reduced to around 725 pixel wide. Then include as direct image in your posts to avoid the four pages of guessing discussion. https://i.imgur.com/gfRzSpL.jpg Looking...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

Remember we discussed how retro-consoles are best played on CRT? What about PC games? I will guess games from prior 2002 were made to be played on CRT monitors too. I think the older PC games do look better on the older CRTs for the nostalgia and for two specific reasons. LCDs are a higher fixed re...

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

I watched Big Trouble in Little China recently on DVD. Still a fun movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously. You can see how this movie influenced Mortal Kombat. Is Big Trouble in Little China actually the worlds best Mortal Kombat movie? I always thought that movie took inspiration from the Mo...
