Re: Need AV mods to my 2nd gen consoles

This topic's old, but I want to add some info on how to mod the Odyssey 2 because there really isn't much for it online, and it's REALLY easy to do. NOTES: This will produce a somewhat weak video signal, so it may appear dimmer on your TV than the RF would. It's still playable, but you can solve thi...

Re: Just one more -- Gameboy Micro Appreciation Thread

Anyone have any experience opening one of these? I bought one a while back at a thrift store and the B-button is sticky because someone spilled some pop on it or something. I'd like to know if its even worth finding a microscopic tri-wing screwdriver or if I'll just break it.

I've got one official controller that has like a 4 foot cord. I don't know what the deal with it is.

Re: Guide Requests

Power supply guide... Just a list of each console's voltage, amperage, and a picture/measurement of the connector type. Lots of times I get consoles with no power supplies and have to go digging in my box of spares to find a similar one but I never know if the voltage is correct. It's surprisingly d...

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"

I found a Gameboy Micro at the thrift store today for $15. Oddly, it had a copy of Guitar Hero On Tour (a DS game) plugged into it. That's more than I would usually pay at a thrift store and it'll cost me $5 more because I had to order a charger for it, but I couldn't pass up a Micro. I've never eve...

Re: Do 2nd Hand Stores Dislike Genesis Items?

It seems nobody wants Sega games around here, either. I've built my entire Genesis collection (Four genesis consoles + ~30-40 boxed games + ~10 loose carts if I had to guess) over the last three years of stopping at one certain thrift store in town. Usually they cost $1 or $2, depending on who marks...

Re: Sega Genesis Glitches

yanking wont kill your consoles. Just because it hasn't damaged yours yet doesn't mean it isn't bad for the Genesis. Is there any evidence for this? I've been reading warnings in manuals for years that pulling carts and doing other weird stuff "may damage your system", but I've yet to hea...

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"

Stopped at the thrift store today and got a silver Gamecube+power supply + instructions for $3.98. I actually got another gamecube from this store about 6 months ago for $3. It was in terrible condition (purple with a beat up case and butterfly stickers on it). It sat around my house for a while unt...

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"

I bought a lot off Ebay recently that included 20 "dead" Genesis controllers, 100 various Genesis manuals, and a Game Gear carrying bag. Bidding went higher than I wanted, and I ended up paying $29 shipped. I was banking on being able to fix some of the controllers and finding some manuals...
