Re: Final Fantasy VI iOS Catching Flak
The new characters seem way to vibrant compared to the drab environments in the game. For the most, the game has a very dark atmosphere; the characters stick out like a sore thumb. Beyond the graphics, I haven't found a console-to-cellular port that I actually felt comfortable playing. The controls ...

Re: Retro Gamer Magazine
I'm excited for Retro magazine. Two of the Retronauts guys will be contributing to it, so that works for me. Speaking of the Retronauts guys, I love Jeremy Parish's Anatomy of a Game series. He goes level by level through different games. There is often some insight that I would never think of just ...

Re: Turn-based RPGs with timed button presses
Beyond the Beyond has a timed button press system associated with it's combat. Not really shocking that it wasn't the game people thought of first.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Huh, so Final Fantasy 8 is now on Steam. I honestly didn't even remember this one launch on PC back in the day. I remember VII on the PC mostly, because it was in one of those oddly shaped Eidos boxes. I already own this on PSN, but I'll probably pick this up when the price is right. If I can play ...

A great list of games. There are a ton on here that I've always wanted to play but never really had the chance. I think I'm going to make it a goal of mine to try to play a game off of here every month next year.

This site should get you sorted. Oh and Ridiculous Fishing is a must-have!
Thanks for the link. I've been looking to get a few good Android games for my S4. The Play store doesn't really do a good job leading you to the top end games.

Re: Persona 5 announced
Didn't see any confirmation of a North American release yet? Lets hope they release it over here and SEGA doesn't do something stupid and stop it from happening SMT has become a very solid money maker for Atlus in the US, so I wouldn't worry about it. Atlus seems to be very good at setting producti...

Re: What, in your opinion, is the best game news/journal sit
Out of the bigger websites, I tend to visit Polygon and USGamer the most. Polygon generally does very comprehensive reviews, and I like the feature based approach of USGamer. I used to like IGN back in the day, but their focus on games has been continuously diminishing. That's not to mention their c...

Re: John Carmack Has Left id Software
Not surprising and I'm sure others could suspect this, but it's worrisome to even wonder what or who id even is at this point. I don't think the Bethesda move was bad, but after reading into how messy Doom 4's production has been, it doesn't really sound like id are what they used to be or have muc...

Re: Summer Game Challenge 2013 - Begin when ready!
I'll use this as a good reason to finish off a few old games that I've been wanting to play for way too long. I'm also throwing in some recent releases that I definitely want to get through: 1. Dragon Quest 8 *Playing* 2. Tomb Raider 3. 999 4. Bioshock Infinite 5. Etrian Odyssey 4 *Playing* 6. Mega ...
