Re: What's your personal pet peeve in gaming?
I'm not an overly-huge fan of them but the Psyvariar games had the risk vs reward mechanic of grinding off enemies for higher scores. I like that approach... not "OOPS TOUCHED THE WALL!".

Re: What's your personal pet peeve in gaming?
Gonna do a bit of a necro-bump. This has always ticked me off. I cannot stand shmups that kill you when touching the border of the play field or environment. Its mostly older games that do this. It's especially bad on Konami games wherein you change your speed. Suddenly you go from an open area to t...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Lol. Never thought I'd see the anakin/padme meme with golden axe characters.
At least in the Genesis version, you kind of need those death pits at the end. The final boss is a pain and you need all of your lives.

Re: Castlevania Appreciation Thread
Yeah, I legit don't remember other anime cutscenes from Rondo but most of my experience with Rondo has been the PSP version (and now the PS4 port of said version). So it makes since I don't remember other scenes if they exist in the original. I know I've played some of the original Rondo on an emula...

Re: Castlevania Appreciation Thread
You know, Ziggy, you could just put the... art of the Castlevania box as your avatar. I finally got around to picking up the Castlevania Requiem collection. The store got some standard editions in stock so I got one of those instead of dealing with a huge box. The standard edition came with a ...

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Hey, Gucci. Do you have a Wii U? Monster Hunter 3U has this save data transfer app (which I'm assuming can be downloaded via homebrew by now) which transfers your save data between systems. Although, at this point you'd probably have to mod a Wii U if you didn't download that either. lol Either way;...

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I got a new car recently. I didn't want to but my rust bucket was starting to have issues and I didn't want to put any more money into it. The dealership was really trying to push a used car (the previous year's model with 70k miles) for more than the new model . Literally the only difference betwee...

Re: Earthion - New Genesis Shmup by Yuzo Koshiro
This looks pretty solid. Like the destructible environment & the Sega Genesis bassy tunes. I wish more devs make games for older systems would sell ROMs. I'd definitely support them and legally/ethically play the games, but am highly likely not buying any carts, CDs, etc. This game looks cool b...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Are you talking about the multitude amount of portable emulation machines or more traditional handhelds like the Vita and 3DS? I meant in the context of the handheld SBC-based emu devices like the Abernics and the Miyoos. I own this one. Do you want me to post pics and write up a description compar...

Re: Games Acquired 2024
There are copies of Inscription for the Switch on ebay right now for about 80 bucks. Don't know much about the game but it seems people are going crazy trying to snag a copy and this is apparently cheaper than the usual ebay prices it goes for. Really fun game. $20 on steam/gog. Usually goes on sal...
