Re: Genre of the Month (FEB 2024 TR) - Simply Simulated
Is that a screenshot of Banished you shared there? Excellent game, that one. I can enjoy a relatively relaxing city builder from time to time. YES ! I absolutely love Banished, and I'm so glad that someone recognized the screenshot! For years I have thought about posting a thread for Banished. But ...

Re: Beer!
While I have a few different vessels (frosted mugs, hefe glasses, tulips, etc), in all honesty I'm just drinking out of a bottle these days, unless I'm entertaining company. If you like Guinness, you should eventually branch out to some other stouts. My go-to for quality is Founders Breakfast Stout....

Re: Books!
Some early criticism of Rowling was that she was not a particularly good prose writer, but that was often countered by the argument that as long as the prose isn't so bad as to be harmful it was more important for young readers simply to read rather than obsess over whether what they are reading is...

Re: Books!
Here's something I've been wondering... Would you recommend the Harry Potter books to an adult who has never read them before nor seen any of the movies? The first four read at an appropriate age would have been fine. I was too old when 5 came out, and I finish the series just because I had been in...

Ah, Anapan's union is a hiring hall. Lucky duck. I'm in a right-to-work state, which means my union can't operate that way. You could always move to a civilized state. (Though, Georgia is moving towards Civilization, I'll give them that.) You might even have better luck than some(one in particular)...

Re: Genre of the Month (JAN 2024 TR) - Plentiful Platformers
I don't know why Popeye NES gets so much flak. I think it's an excellent port. Am I missing something that the die-hard arcaders would have experienced? I played the original Mega Man so much I could beat every robot master with the Mega Buster without getting hit, but I still died every time I got ...

Re: How can I enjoy hot coffee that isn't burnt?
I'd be interested in the "harmful stuff" that French presses can let through, but I've been otherwise thrilled with my Espro P3 French press . I switched to it from a Bodum, which was a bigger pain to clean. Basically there are some oils that the wire mesh of a French press doesn't filter...

Re: How can I enjoy hot coffee that isn't burnt?
I'll echo Limewater. You don't really need an insulated carafe for yourself. Just get a thermos (Thermos brand or otherwise). My Thermos definitely kept my coffee hot throughout the whole day. I'd be interested in the "harmful stuff" that French presses can let through, but I've been other...

What exactly is the problem you're looking to solve? Is it owning a large physical game collection? The space that takes up? Switching games all of the time? A little bit of it all. I think it would be awfully nice to save some space and just turn on a game by booting it up. I'm also less of a stic...
